A page about weight lifting and Running.
Please watch this page for new photos of the weight lifting routines that worked for me.

My philosophy of running and weight lifting has evolved over 20 years of running. At first I resisted weight lifting, and told myself that "exercise is free", thinking only about the monthly charges at gyms. That all changed when I got a trade membersip at a local gym called Kennedy Club Fitness. Since I was a photographer, the owners wanted to have pictures of desk people and trainers in black and white 8 x 10 print size on their walls. I agreed instantly to this trade! Now, some six years later, it continues.
Experiences may vary with different people, but at first, my arms and all muscles subjected to weight training were sore, but after the initial breakdown of the muscles, my running got better, body fat dropped to a low of 6.8% and injuries became pretty much a thing of the past. This page is still being edited, and will have pictures of the best weight training routines for runners as time goes by. For now, just remember to use low weights and high repititions. One object is to keep up your heart rate as if you were running.

Me, at age 56, taken in May 99, a month before my 57th Birthday.

I purchased the tank-top seen here from Hot Bodz in Florida. They have many colors and styles. see them at http://www.hotbodzco.com

Juke Boxes Take Me Back To Good Old Days

I have my own juke box from 1967, but I wish it was like this classic model wurlitzer design.
