*Policenauts Version Differences*

*The differences between all versions of Policenauts are considerably less than those of Snatcher, but the list below will tell you whats different, and my opinions on them...*

*Policenauts was released on four different platforms (1 on the PC, and 3 on consoles) Obviously, the console versions feature greatly enhanced visuals and sound over the PC version, but even amongst the console versions, there were many differences...Listed below are the noticeable differences between the console versions*


*After the 3DO release, many still shots were redrawn and/or recolored (see shots below)...Some are hard to distinguish, while others are very noticeable*


*One noticeable difference is an animation sequence on the 3DO version...When the EMPS team prepares to roll out, a few shots were redrawn, while others were removed and replaced with others*


*Also of note are the animation sequences...While they do look very nice in the 3DO version, many (nearly all) of them were recolored for the PSX and Saturn versions, making them look more polished*


*The music is exactly the same in every version, which is good since the soundtrack is very good*


*Another difference is the packaging for all the versions..All contain beautiful artwork on the covers, but the Saturn version also included a beautiful art book*


*Also of note, the "Policenauts Private Collection" was released shortly after the first release of Policenauts on the PSX..This disc contained movies of demos shown at trade shows and also showed what the PC9821 version looked like..It also contained song tracks, interviews,sketches, etc...(The 3DO Policenauts Pilot DIsk was nearly identical to this disk) On the Saturn, the movies and a small interview section was included on the 1st disc and opened once you beat the game*


*Also of note, the Saturn version had 3 different songs for the ending...the way you would here them was just random,but just reload a saved game,beat it again, and you will hear all three*


*The Saturn version also contains a few graphical upgrades, like when you speak to a few people, you now have a close up of them while you speak to them....There is also a quick flashback sequence for Jonathan*
