POLICENAUTS AND SNATCHER CODES & VARIOUS TIDBITS*

One of the cool little things about Snatcher is the little humorous tidbits they throw in.....For example, below are a list of names you can look up in the Jordan computer and read their mostly odd messages. Below them are some names and their videophone numbers that you can dial up using Metal Gear...Enjoy...

*N O T E - You have to consistently pester Isabella for her videophone number....You get the "Cupid Love Line* videophone from a calling card you find at Alton Plaza*

*In the PSX version of Snatcher there was a code to input to change certain options...The code is as follows: At the option screen, highlight "EXIT", press "START" then press,in order, UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, TRIANGLE, SQUARE, X, O..You will hear a "ding" if done correctly...This code allows you to change the wallpaper background (Now you can get rid of the ugly backgrounds from Act 1 and Act 2!), the cursor color, and the target pointer.....Some of the wallpaper selections are the regular default backgrounds, the traditional black one, a "Speed King" background, a background from "Tokimeki Memorial", and a Konami baseball background........

*Another thing I love about Snatcher is that the story is so intricately constructed unlike any other game out there...If you go into the Jordan computer, you can learn many more things, like all about history, politics, sports,etc....One of the best things I loved was the following tidbit..Now, you know that you and Jean-Jack Gibson are two runners, but did you know there were also FOUR more?? Heres what happened to 'em*

LEWIS GILMORE
K.I.A: 10/13/47
Lewis Gilmore was the first Runner to die in the line of duty....He was killed while attempting to question an Asian man suspected of being a Snatcher

SERGIO GRAZZIO
K.I.A: 10/19/47
Sergio Grazzio was found murdered at the Neo-Kobe Seed Garden..He was found on the ground with a tree sapling stuffed down his throat

DAVID JOHNSON
RETIRED: 10/19/47
David Johnson was Sergio Grazzio's partner...He was also fouund at the scene, but injured badly and barely alive...He survived the attack, but currently is in a vegetative state, with no hope of ever fully regaining any physical movement back

SHULTZ DESCARTES
K.I.A: 10/22/47
Shultz Descartes was found murdered in his home, along with his entire family...This was apparently acted out as revenge for a Snatcher that had been eliminated by Descartes earlier in the day

Here's some interesting info...Found some old magazines and found a couple reviews of Snatcher...As I had already known, EGM had given Snatcher a Gold Award (All 8's or higher)...It also had made the 100 best games of all time list from EGM,landing at number 69....Gamefan gave it a 90, 100, and another 90...Gamepro said it was an "ok" game, but the sound didnt fit the game (My opinion-never believe Gamepro's reviews anyway)...All of the above reviews I knew of, but I found an old Game Players magazine and read the review...They gave it an 80%....They said basically what Gamepro said, but also said, in my opinion, one of the stupidest comments about Snatcher possible...They said under their music and sound fx comments, and I quote, "The CD-supplied voice actors are mostly pretty terrible"...Hmmm...well, with great reviews like that, we now all know why Game Players magazine survived huh?!........
