We live in South Centarl Ky, known as the Beautiful Lake Cumberland region. It is a small rural area. We live almost 10 miles from the nearest town and a mile from a main road. We have 10 acres and have had lots of various animals in rhe past. We used to raise cows, sheep, goats, (our favorites!) horses, a few dogs, all sorts of fowls, and of course, our cats. We both have been construction workers (heavy equipment operators) and stayed on the road a lot. We worked in Ky, Ohio, and South Carolina. It was hard to find someone to take of our animals like we would do it ourselves, so we sold everything except our cats. (Our last dog had passed away a few years before) We only had 2 cats at the time and my mom would come over several times a week, and take care of them. In June of 2003, (after almost 30 years), I quit work and came home, The following year, my husband also quit his job. We bought our own construction equipment and started our own company. I love being on the webby, but needless to say, my time is somewhat limited now! So...........it's on with The Rest Of The Story! |
Miss Kitty was one of my adopted cats. When I worked for home based health care, I had her previous owner as a patient. She was terminally ill, and was worreid about her animals. She had 12 (yes---12) indoor dogs and Miss Kitty was the only cat. She wanted to know if I'd find them good homes. I helped do that, and bought Miss Kittty home with me until I could find her a loving home. She never left us! I never thought to ask how old she was when we adopted her, but she was an adult cat. We had her for over ten years. before she went to the Bridge in January of 2004. She is still missed very much. We love you Miss Kitty!
This was one of her favorite positions.
. I don't how many kittens she had, but he was the only one I ever saw. He was hard to catch at first, but with time, patience, and love , we gradually won him over. I kept my front door open, and let him stick his head in whenever he wanted. That graduated to finally coming in and out for short periods of time. He is a mostly indoor cat right now and such a big baby!
