OUR PAST CONVENTIONS

MICHIGAN TWINS 57TH ANNUAL CONVENTION, FRANKENMUTH, MI
June 2003

Many early bird twins arrived Friday to catch up with old friends, and make new ones.

Saturday morning was spent viewing the quaint shops that line the streets in Frankenmuth, or shopping at Bronners, the world's largest Christmas store.
On Saturday afternoon, the sudden brief monsoon that blew thru couldn't dampen our spirits, and many of us took a trip on a paddleboat on the river. We were very lucky, because just as we left the dock, the sun returned! It was a beautiful ride.

We had a tasty chicken banquet dinner that evening, and were serenaded throughot the meal by wandering violinists.

A great time was had by all!

MICHIGAN TWIN 56TH ANNUAL CONVENTION JACKSON, MICHIGAN
June 21, 22, & 23, 2002

On Saturday, June 22nd the twins visited the Michigan Space & Science Center.

The Michigan Space & Science Center is the midwest's only museum completely dedicated to mankind's efforts to explore space. It is the home to many unique and interesting artifacts from the entire history of America's space program. Many of the artifacts on display were provided by NASA, the Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum, or private donors; the estimated value of the collection is over 30 million dollars.

The Michigan Space & Science Center also provides visitors with a number of hands-on experiences. Among the many things there are to do, visitors can view a moon rock through a microscope, look at rare photos of the moon's surface through 3-D glasses, try their hand at working with a glove box, see what they would weigh on other planets, or pretend to fly in the Mercury capsule simulator.

Then after a lovely banquet dinner, we went to Jackson's famous Cascades Illuminated Waterfalls to visit. The Cascades Waterfalls are "a family summertime tradition" since 1932. Some of us prefered to view the colorful waterfalls and listen to beautiful music from the comfortable seats provided, while others climbed to the top of the falls while dodging spraying water. Our trip to the Falls was enjoyable for all ages.

On Sunday, June 23rd our annual Twin Contests were held.

Canoe trip~ Twins wore their funniest hat during this 2 1/2 hour trip!

Evening banquet~ Everyone brought a photo of themselves and their twin to set at their dinner plate! We dined on a wonderful buffet, and then gathered in the enclosed courtyard.

We talked, and laughed, and shared stories and photos until late into the night. Some twins spent time in the lounge, lstening to a great live band, and dancing until the lounge closed!
