Leccinum griseum

Also known as Leccinum carpini, this was found in oak-hickory woods. Photographed in the St. Mihiel Forest Preserve, Cook County, IL. July 11, 2000

Mycena haemotopus

The Bleeding Mycaena, common around here. Although I have seen this listed as an edible in one book, others disagree, so I haven't tried this one. Photographed at Swallow Cliff Woods, Cook County ,IL.

Stereum ostrea?

I'm not absolutely sure of the species on this one, but definitely in the Stereum genus. The attractive rusty brown color faded quickly, as I went back to take more pictures three days after this was taken, but they had faded to a drab brown. Photographed in the St. Mihiel Preserve, Cook County, IL.
