NOMC 2006 SPRING RETREAT

HURRICANE HEALING AND RECOVERY

THE NOMC SPRING RETREAT WILL BE HELD

ON APRIL 21-23, 2006 AT KING'S ARROW RANCH, HILLSDALE, MS.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We seek to provide a safe place for men to connect with themselves, other men and the enviroment. Large and small group experiences as well as some time alone are planned. In our mythopoetic tradition , storytelling, poetry, drumming and expeiential learning can be expected.

HEALING AND RECOVERY

Hurricane Katrina and Rita brought widespread destruction, devastation, disruption, displacement, and for some death and despair.
Our last Retreat in December, 2005 focused on the repair and rebuilding of our Sacred Circle and Compound at King's Arrow Ranch, the outer work.
For this Retreat we invite men to focus on the inner work of healing, recovery and rebuilding individually and as a community of Men.
Some questions to consider in preparation of our gathering.

What were your losses both externally and internally, and how are you dealing with them?

What is sustaining you when all else has been washed away?

What are you learning from the pain of this disaster that you want to share?

Is there new life and hope emerging in you and around you since the Hurricane?

What is the challange and mission for us now as The New Oleans Men's Center?

The Men's Weekend Retreat at rustic King's Arrow Ranch near Lumberton Mississippi is a call to men who want to focus on themselves, their relationships, their communities and their world! Together we will create a safe, secure and sacred space where men can do transformational work.

If you feel a need to share your experiences, if you have a desire to be more whole..you are invitred to join us. Come and discover what a weekend of sharing from the heart, poetry, stories, drumming, great fellowship, good food, and the radical commitment to respect, support and love each man can do for you.
