THE JUDGMENT Upon death, The heart ( Ab ) or consciousnss of a human is weighed against truth on the scale of Maat. If the heart is found lighter (without blame) than the feather of Maat (symbol of Maat) it signifies the human led a virtuous life , mastered wisdom and knowledge and is ready to journey into eternity. If the human can respond negatively to the 42 confessions of Maat, recited at the time of judgment, the human is deemed fit to "come forth into day" to join the Supreme Being.
