ARE YOU EATING AT JEZEBEL'S TABLE?

A very important question that all church people
should ask themselves. The author / publisher, Rodney Brooks let's us know what Jezebel' s table represents and what it means.

" Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the PROPHETS OF THE GROVES FOUR HUNDRED, WHICH EAT AT JEZEBEL'S TABLE." 1 Kings 18:19 KJV

The above scripture is the subject matter of this sermon, and my question to you that are churchgoers. First, I would like for you to take note that the false worshippers of Baal were 450 and the prophets of the groves ( pagan false religion were 400 ) as you can see the man of God was extremely outnumbered. Secondly, note how that they ate at Jezebel's table. Who was Jezebel? She was a king's daughter and also the wife of Ahab king of Israel. She was a very wicked woman and to see what else she did we will pick it up in the 13th verse of the same chapter ( 18 )
" Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the Lord, how I hid an hundred men of the Lord's prophets by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water? " She destroyed the true men of God substituting them with her own prophets. Can you see the scenario of that today ? The true man of God is outnumbered with all of these false prophets that are well taken care of by Jezebel and the wealthy people who parade around in their fine clothes, cars, homes, perverting truth to get money. They are preaching a " name- it - claim - it " Prosperity message. I know that was a false pagan worship of idols, however, false worship in whatever form is false worship. It is not as blatant as it was in Elijah's day but is disguised. The God of Israel
had guidelines, statutes, and laws that he gave to Moses and the prophets. when Israel went astray they picked up idols of their own that they reverenced. The preacher of today that improvizes or takes scripture out of context, or that seeks the pleasing of the masses are the same as Jezebel's prophets.
The people of Elijah's day were satisfied with false
prophets and those who did things their way and had their own type of worship . This is the religious scene of today. People and preachers pay very little attention to what the word says and teaches. Sin that used to be sin is not today because in order to accomodate the superchurches attendances and to preach a prosperity mesage , truth has been prostituted. The characteristics of Jezebel's prophets eating at her table I will let you know what they are:
They were well taken care of eating at the table of a King, but what was the price that they had to pay for being her prophets? The price was that they were controlled by her and Ahab and his cronies to a head-on collision course with destruction. In other words these prophets were bought and paid for! Just like the modern day pastors are bought and paid for by the Organization, the pope, the institutionalized church, the tithe payer, the pastor's aid club and a host of other " ill- gotten -gains or filthy lucre" that the word speaks of so expressly. You say what do you mean, my pastor or church isn't like that, what are you talking about? I am talking about the truth that is in the scriptures that your religious Organization will not allow you to tell , respecting men over what the word says. I also am talking about your minister prostituting truth for a large congregation, and to have a big church. I also am talking about preachers who know the truth and the danger of God's judgment taking down the standard and letting people wear what the world wears, act. dress, behave and do as the world does. Otherwise you see how many people will fill your pews when you pinpoint sin, and what it means to us. Sure it is good to talk about Daniel in the lion's den and the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace and health, wealth, and prosperity, self- help sermons and positive thinking and love and peace and joy, and shouting and dancing and praise and worship, but what about the heart of the matter ? Man and his sinful lifestyle? Talk about adultery in the church and how many preachers, churchmembers
are divorcing and remarrying and keep on singing and shouting when their homes are broken up. I heard a minister on the radio about a week or so ago talking about his first wife and how that was not the right woman for him! Shame on you calling yourself a man of God, and condoning adultery, and teaching it boldly to his congregation as if it was nothing! How many pews will you fill telling young men that
that girl / woman is not your wife and that you are committing fornication which the word condemns. How many parishioners will you have telling the homosexual that he is wrong that God is against not him, and does not hate him, but his lifestyle. Will you have a packed church service telling the lesbian that it is not ordained by God for her and her lover ( two women ) to be lovers. Will you get all of those tithes telling the dope pusher that his dirty money will not be taken as tithes or offerings? Will you be growing by leaps and bounds if your members are crooks, extortioners, liars, thieves, involved in organized crime ? Will you get all of those new buildings telling people that
their self-righteousness and attitudes will not put them into the kingdom? How many churches will you build when you cry out against sin and the stench that it fumes up in the face of God. All of these things and those that I did not name, since all unrighteouness is sin, and every last one of us are sinners until we take on true repentance, water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission or
( removal ) of our sin state. That's what being born again means. I know that most everybody claims to be but they are lying, if everybody was born again then we would
not see all of the evil that exists. Getting back to my subject / question, are you and your pastor eating at Jezebel's table? I know most of you will say of course not! But the fact of the matter is that yes, you are ! The doctrine that the Lord gave to us through the apostles is all there is that is God- ordained. Does your church hold their doctrine, or man's. The trinity doctrine is eating at Jezebel's table, man came up with a plurality of God's. When a man of God is truly sent by him, then his message like Elijah's will cause you some serious trouble and like the prophets that Jezebel slew, cost their lives. Furthermore, Elijah' had to flee for his life, because Jezebel ( The dominant force at that time in religion ) ruled, this was her domain, and territory, which actually she governed, even her jellyback husband Ahab. Remember how that Ahab wanted Naboth's vineyard and he would not surrender it, she had him killed and Ahab in his stupidity went down to taks possession of it and was confronted with this heinous crime by the prophet Elijah. ( See 1 Kings 21: 1- 25 KJV ) Jezebel's table looks attractive, plenty of food, members, churches, and all that most of these religious people deem important, and disguises it as the " blessings of the Lord" . It looks, acts and seems very successful, everybody looks good superficially ( ON THE OUTSIDE )
but inside that is not how they are truly.
The blessings of the Lord will not allow you to become rich off of deception of people
making them believe that money and wealth constitutes righteousness. Wake up people, we have plenty of modern day Ahab's and Jezebels who like they did sold themselves to do evil just to have their way. All of these sermons on finances cannot bring back that wife that old preacher put away and messsed up her life. No doubt that preacher 's wife that I talked about earlier that divorced her will have it in her mind that all preachers are that way, fat cats, studs, playboys, eating well and lying to people about the scriptures, bragging about how much money they have and how God have blessed them. If they truly are men of God with all that money then they need to do what Jesus told that rich young ruler that he had to go and sell all that he had and give to the poor and come and follow Jesus. In the book of Acts all of the believers that had possesions, land etc. sold them to help the less fortunate. Since many today claim that their cup is "running over " And that they are the
" head and not the tail " Then if you truly love God as you say you do and that you are preaching " his " gospel. In "His " gospel they sold their possessions and goods and parted them to all men as every man had need. He wasn't telling them to sell the house that you live in unless it is so lavish that you can live modest like I do. I am just a poor little old preacher that can barely pay his bills. I do not live in a lavish fine house, nor do I live in abject poverty either.
My wife and I both work almost all day, and night some days to pay on our bills, but thank God he always provides. We live in a small ranch- style home with 3 bedrooms about less than
2000 square feet. We go to a small little church with very few members but huge in
Biblical truth. It does not take all that man lusts after to live. I love my little meager
surroundings and thank God for his blessings every day. Just to be saved according to the word of the Lord and filled with the baptism of the holy ghost according to Acts the second chapter, baptized in water in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of my sins, continuing stedfastly in the Apostles' doctrine. I do not want anything that Jezebel has to offer and will not be a "Spiritual Whore " that most preachers have lusted after, laid down with, defiled themselves with, went to spiritual bed, and slept with her, and got up ( all the while Ahab was out ) eating at her adulterous, evil table. So, do you see my point now? Will you continue to go to those churches where they do not care about your spiritual well- being ? Is your pastor a spiritual whore ? Making love with every wind of doctrine that man can conjure up? Is he telling you the whole Biblical truth without distorting it for personal gain or other reasons. Has he been baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of his sins according to Acts 2:38, which is truly obeying Jesus' commission in St. Matthew 28: 19 KJV. Does he preach the apostle's doctrine as they continued stedfastly in according to Acts 2:42 KJV? Is he preaching one Lord, one faith, one baptism according to Ephesians 4: 5 ? Is he declaring the whole counsel of God or just taking your tithes and offerings, preaching the damnable doctrines of men, disguising his motives behind tithe-taking, love offerings, and seeking for worldly gain. Test him, stop paying your tithes and see what happens! Stop giving him anniversaries, pastor's aide, appreciations, etc. and see where his motives truly are! For these are some of the ways that you / I can tell who is eating at Jezebel's table. Look at us in a small building with very few members, but holding on faithfully to the true message of the Lord given to man through the apostles, not even owning the church building, no monies given to me , no pastor's aid club or anniversaries, no gimmicks just the true gospel message with no srtrings attached! No salesman techniques or psychology manipulations or using
" scare tactics to get people to give to the church" No pidgeon-dropped give to this ministry and you will receive a financial miracle," no sending out blessed handkerchiefs, red, gold, strings, or blessed salt, potato chips or giving out blessed balloons, or any of that stuff. We are not marketing, we are preaching the gospel. No multiple offerings every service taking up the offering about every few minutes, begging for money, tricking people out of their savings in the name of a financial blessing, no fund raisers, not selling potato chips and soda bought ON SALE for . 49 cents and selling the whole bottle for $2.00, not having a
gospel "sing-a-thon , or paying the " Singing Jesus-aires " to perform at the church nothing but holiness, the plan of salvation according to Acts 2:38 offering eternal salvation at no cost, spreading the truth, giving away free sermon / tapes
helping those in need when church funds allow us to, and doing what a church should do which is reaching out to help people in need. Some may say that I am eating at her table, but as the saying goes, "You do the math! " The end
