How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, thy God reigneth! " Isaiah 52: 7 KJV . Imagine that! Good news or tidings ! Can you ever pick up a newspaper and read something that makes you glad or happy, or makes headlines and it's not catastrophic! Reading about some deadly terrorist or bomber, or unibomber, or somebody carrying explosives in their shoes! Can you believe it when there is some report of news that just makes people estatic! Hard to find that isn't it? However, I have great news for you! There is hope for mankind, life can be better, monies fail, the stock market is not soaring, profitability for companies has stifled, layoffs are occouring everyday, people are afraid to get on an airplane, and life here on earth is pretty upsetting at times, but, there is a better way. That better way is the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Believe it or not , in a world or turmoil, chaos, confusion, troubles and woes, there still are people that are enjoying abundant life, the people of the saints of the Most High God! Even in the midst of a chaotic society where madness is the order of the day, suicides, homicides, the growth of pornography, sex perverts, child molesters, and the rise of the occult through psychics, mediums, the madames, astrology, acts of violence, and all other avenues that Satan is reaking havock on this old world that is destined for destruction, it is wonderful to know that there is a " balm " in Gilead, there is healing for the sin- sickness of todays world. ( See Jerem. 8 : 22 KJV )   As people try to achieve happiness in multiple marriages, divorce is on the rise, stress is escalated, and the pursuit of pleasures, activities to please the masses of people and thrill seekers is at an all time high, the very core of man, which is his soul, is suffering from spiritual deprivation. What do I mean by spiritual deprivation? I mean the loss of man truly being fulfilled from within, or the heart of man. Man will try many things and seek happiness and joy through many avenues, of which I named some above. However, when you have satisfied yourself and fulfilled certain desires and pleasures, why are you still empty? Why is it that all those things cannot totally fulfill you and give you peace? You go from one extreme to another, changing wives, or girlfriends, or in some cases you go to the same sex, seeking satisfaction or pleasure. You get out of one relationship into another but still there is something down on the inside of you that cannot be satisfied, you constantly are seeking for happiness. What is wrong with me you ask? Why did I do those things? Where am I headed? Is there any way in life to get relief from all of this ? Why did God make me ? Why am I alive ? Is it just to suffer and go through all of this? What is the meaning of life? Even as I write this article to you, our country is in an uproar concerning terrorism that struck on Sept. 11th, and now the job market is on a downward spiral, Ford about to close a Missouri plant, the stock Market and Wall street with plummeting figures on a downward trend. Where are things going? How come God is so far away, and where is he? All of these questions have been on the mind of people lately, but with all of these events, happenings and occurences, the world will not change for the better and we will not see everything take a drastic change. In the midst of all our questions, we should stop and consider this: we are not here on this earth to stay, and life is more than what we see, think, eat, dream of. The main purpose and reason for all of our existances is to see what we will do with the gospel. The truth that has been outlined for us in scripture, the message that Jesus Christ came into the world to save lost, dying, suffering humanity. To answer most of the questions posed above is this: Satan, the hater of God and man is the culprit. He became the devil in his rebellion against God and his masterplan, and has set out to defeat it, stifle it, kill, steal and destroy everything that God made which the Bible says was good. However he, Satan, is behind terrorist bombings, killings, theft, heartaches, troubles that plague the human race. And since he knows how man is, he will do all that he can to keep people in utter darkness and deception and will fight the gospel as hard as he can, to keep you from truly coming to God. God has not and will never, ever strongarm anyone to accept his wonderful true plan of salvation, he gives everybody a choice to decide for themselves what they want to do. The choice has been given to man by a just God to choose his own destiny. And the devil knows this. He knows how curious man is, and self pleasure that man will strive for to gratify his sinful nature. He also knows that there is a flip side to worldly pleasures, elicit sex, drug addiction, and getting drunk and high, living a life free from God. That flip side is death. Even with lots of money people are still not happy. The rappers show you a side of lust, pleasures, sexual escapades, and fantasies fulfilled with plenty of women undressed and half naked, and driving the fine cars and living in penthouses and playing with the opposite sex and parading around with a handful of money, but, again he doesn't show you the sexual transmitted diseases that these people have or STD's . He makes man feel like he is on top of the world until he destroys them and damns their souls into everlasting destruction. Hollywood shows people the glamour, glitz, stardom that many will seek to be a part of. Yet again, Satan will not show you the nightmares, chaos, sleeping with different ones to rise to stardom, prostituting yourselves, throwing out of all morals, and living in a dream world, to get ahead. He will not show you the drunkards, spewing, vomitting, attempting suicide that their lifestyle has caused them to be entrapped in. Neither will he show you the nasty divorces, ugly litigation, no-rest at night, fear, living on the edge, trusting no one, paranoid attitude and all that comes with fame. The devil makes the grass look greener on the other side of the fence until you get over there. In other words, he will paint a pretty picture superficially and make things look so dynamic, until you get over there to discover that these people are "walking time bombs, ready to explode" they are so unhappy and unfulfilled, miserable, disgusted, hating even life itself because there seems to be no way out. Have you ever felt that way, my friend? Trapped, with no way out? Wondering what next? How can I be free from all of this mess that has me in such bondage. I am not financially poor, I have a lot going for me, I am a thrifty person, I go to work everyday, provide for my family, pay my bills, go to school, I even go to church, you say. Why am I so unhappy? Why is the life that I live so depressing? Can I find happiness in another town? Can I move away from this environment and get a better job? Can I go to the psychiatrist and find out what to do to improve my mood. Is it what Iam eating, or is it sleep deprivation, mood swings, headaches, heart aches, misalignment of the spin or vertebrae? What is my problem? Have you ever asked yourself any of these questions? Well, if so then welcome to life here on earth ! Only those who are in another world or just plain off, or just don't care, do not have any worries, problems or maladies. But if you are sincere then you should come to the realization that there is a purpose for you being here. Yes, someone does love you, yes, there is a better way, yes, you can have inner peace right here on earth in the midst of chaos, confusion, strife, annimosity, curiosity, crazy driving people on the road or road-rage, evil people with absolutely no concern about no one but themselves. People at work deceitful trying to out do you and step on your toes to get ahead, doing everything that they can to be successful, and on the top, but when they get there they soon discover that in order to stay where they are you must distance yourself from other people, step on them continually to stay up there, deny your friends, walk over whoever in order to maintain their level of achievement. A very lonely place to be. Not too many true friends, but acquaintances, co-workers, and fellow associates that you see every day but could care less about. Have I described you? Is this hitting home? Well, I said all of those things and came down that street to bring you to the main point, and focal point of this message, that is the good news of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ! You can experience the power of a true relationship with the Lord ! You can have true peace in him, forgiveness of sins, and a life of godliness with still yet oppositions, troubles, trials, tests, that you can overcome by the blood of Jesus and the word of your testimony in him. How do I get this ? You get it by calling on the name of the Lord, praying and asking him into your life, and changing your ways and by believing his gospel as it is in scripture. You can take on his name in the waters of baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins . " Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the holy ghost .
