My Parks family settled in the area around Fairview, Fulton Co., Illinois in 1849..Elijah Parks and wife Sarah Conover Parks moved to the area with their son David and wife Sarah Johnson Parks..
Next generation was James Johnson Parks who married another Sarah..this was Sarah Cammann.

Visiting friends while Dad was still in Army..we also spent time in Las Vegas, NV while Dad was trying to fight TB he received in WWII..the only care then was the "desert cure"..my mother and I lived behind the Flamingo Hotel, which was at the end of the strip then and behind was all dirt roads..there was a military park set up there for wives who were waiting for ill husbands to get better, that was 1950..I saw Bugsy Siegel and other mob figures as they threw candy and pennies at us little children when we would run up to their big, black Cadillacs from the dirty park..bad time for my mother, but good time to be a kid..
