Oreille Kennels was established in 1989, in North Carolina while I was serving time in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman Petty Officer specializing in Histotechnology. Oreille is part of the name of my first AKC registered dog, my Sommeil Oreille Languir, an adorable red and white Basset Hound. Oreille is French and means "ear". In my endeavor into Bassets I choose Oreille to be my kennel prefix and it has been ever since. I later purchased my first Pointer from Carol Jenkins of Winzlot and that would be my beginning into the breed. Oreille is pronounced -ORAY. The Oreille prefix is attached to every Basset (only 1 litter - 7 pups) and Pointer that I have bred with a few exceptions (i.e. some pups from co-bred litters). I have only produced to date, 11 litters of Pointers on my property (this includes 2 co-bred w/ Renee Thurber of Cottonwood and 3 co-bred w/ Jo Ann Steffes of Geronimo's) and six other co -bred litters (not on my property), one in Tucson with Bill Tassin of Arizona Cajun Country, one in Houston with Tracy Wiles of Quantum, two with Marenda Kennels in Northern Californa, one with Sherri Conner of Dreamazon in Redlands, CA and one with Robin Fullerton of Terrinton Hills in Branson, MO. This total of 17 litters produced only a modest amount Pointer puppies over a 18 + year period in the breed. All sires are dams are generally AKC Champions and OFA'd for hips. We believe in QUALITY not quantity. I am a member in good standing of The American Pointer Club, The Basset Hound Club of America, The Upper Midwest Pointer Club and the Ozarks Kennel Club. Oreille Pointers live all over the United States and in other countries as well. Watch for our Pointers in conformation rings, obedience rings and fields near you. In 1991 after completing my Navy career, I returned home to Tucson, Arizona then on to Phoenix to further my Histology career. In 1996 after deciding Arizona was no longer for my dogs and I we moved west (more west) to Southern California and resided in Riverside County for 9 years until the winter of 2005, after which point we (along with my mother) headed to the Ozarks (in the Branson, Missouri area). We invite you to come and visit us and our Pointers at our kennel and see.....................
"Quality Produced with Love and Pride".
