THE WEEKLY HOWL

DECEMBER 1, 1999

Woof woof! I just came back from a wonderful holiday weekend. Not only did we celebrate Thanksgiving, but my birthday was 2 days later and we had a terrific party in honor of it! At 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 27th), my mistress gave me a delightful birthday party. Newman and all the cats and humans in our family came to my party. I wore a party hat. I got to have beef canned dog food, which I don't eat very often, vanilla ice cream, vanilla birthday cake, and beefy rawhide chews. I got raw hide chew toys for birthday presents. I already ate them all, hee hee! But I also got a new ball, a frisbee, and a new collar and leash. There were balloons and noise-makers and music, with my mistress singing happy birthday to me. We played games of frisbee and ball chasing. We also took tons of pictures of the event. I'll be showing those to you as soon as they come back from being developed. I sure hope they come out good. I had a wonderful day!

Thanksgiving was great fun, too. Newman and I and all the cats got to eat turkey and gravy leftovers from the Thanksgiving dinner. I saw parades on tv, although I'm not really sure why the humans did this. It was raining in New York City when they held the Macy parade. I don't know why they all wanted to parade around in the pouring rain! But it was a beautiful sight to behold anyway. There were giant balloons and floats and marching bands. Then we tuned in to see the parade in Hawaii, briefly, and saw hula girls dancing, floats covered in flowers, and horses walking along decorated in flowers. It was colorful. Back at Macy's, they had people from the Broadway shows singing and dancing. There was sure alot to see that day! It was a joyous holiday for all our family. I hope you enjoyed yours, too. Now it's almost Christmas. So I have to go and write Santa a letter and tell him I've been a good doggie this year. I want to give him my list of the things I want in my Christmas stocking. See you next time!
Your Faithful Friend,
Brownie!
