THE WEEKLY HOWL
OCTOBER 8, 1999
Woof woof and bow wow wow! (Since when do dogs actually say bow wow? And who thought of that anyway?!) Welcome to another edition of The Weekly Howl. Today I'm going to tell you all about Puddin'. Puddin' was a cream colored cocker spaniel that my mistress played with when we were living in California. She was 11 years old at the time. I wasn't born yet, but the story was handed down to me. My mistress met Puddin' while playing outside in the afternoon after school one day. He was owned by a businessman who wasn't home much. He needed someone to play with while his owner was away at work. So my mistress played with him. They used to run all over the street (it was a quiet street with little traffic) and play ball together and chase each other around. Puddin' liked to play tug of war with his doggie toys, too. My mistress didn't have any dogs or cats then. So she used to play with other people's pets. Every day Puddin' looked forward to seeing my mistress and to playing with her. She visited him faithfully. She also got to know the man who owned Puddin'. He was very friendly and pleasant. Then one day, the man had to move away. It was a sad day indeed, both for my mistress and for Puddin'. The man packed Puddin' in his sports car with his other belongings and drove away, never to be seen again. My mistress missed Puddin' after that, but she found other dogs and cats to play with, up until the day she got her own. That's us! And that's the story of Puddin'. So till next week, have a good weekend and have fun chasing your own balls and mistresses and masters and other dogs and cats around! And I'll see you next time!
Your Faithful Friend,
Brownie
