Your web site's banner could be seen FREE and PERMANENTLY on 1,000+ web pages by joining the Eagle Links program!
This idea is not new or original - it is, however, unique in the fact that it was started by recipients of the "Fly With Eagles" Award presented to only the most worthy of web sites by HART Enterprises (http://www.hart1.com/Eagles.htm). You do not have to be an award recipient to participate.
The concept is to increase traffic to your web site by displaying the banners of 3 other Eagle Links members and allowing visitors to join the program by "clicking" on the Eagle Links banner. If 10 people visit your web page and join, and they have 10 people visit and join from their web pages, you could have your banner displayed on 1,000 web pages in no time at all.
"Adult", "Pornographic", "Drug Use", "Bigoted", "Racist", "Wares", or any other "Undesirable" sites are not permitted in the program. All members will have to help police our membership. Violations can be reported to EagleLinks@hart1.com
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. First, you must make sure that your host server allows banners on your web page (Geocities, for example, has very specific guidelines about banners).
2. Copy the 3 banners from the bottom of this page (the one you are reading now), and save them to your server with the HTML information for each (you can get the HTML info by clicking on View on your browser's tool bar and then select Source). Place them on your web page where they will get the most exposure. NEVER REMOVE THESE BANNERS FROM YOUR WEB SITE, OR ALTER THEM IN ANYWAY!! NOTE: Don't forget to change the <a img src=" "> to your file name, and make sure the <a href=" "> is complete.
3. Copy this instruction page (the page you are reading now), with ALL banners shown here, and place it on your web site. You can do this by highlighting the entire page and then press Ctrl and C. DO NOT CHANGE THE TEXT OF THIS PAGE.
4. Design a banner for your web site that is either 200 x 80, or 400 x 40; NO MORE THAN 8K; NO ANIMATION. Try to make it as fast loading as possible so all of the web sites displaying it won't be slowed down by your banner. YOU MUST USE A BANNER - NO TEXT LINKS ALLOWED.. If you need help designing a banner, contact Bruce Hart at: HartEnterprises@hart1.com
5. On YOUR COPY of this page ONLY, delete the bottom banner and place your banner on top, moving the other two banners down one place. Do Not Change The Banners You Posted On Your Web Site - They Are Permanent! MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE YOUR COMPLETE URL ADDRESS (http:_______) IN THE HTML OF YOUR BANNER.
6. Copy the Eagle Links graphic at the top of this page and place it on your first page or your highest traffic page. Link it to YOUR COPY of this page (the one you are reading now). You can place the Eagle Links banner on as many pages as you like. Just make sure they link back to YOUR COPY of this page.
7. Check all links to make sure they work.
NOTE: Make sure you DO NOT LINK directly to anyone else's server - download everything to yours. This is proper net ethics and saves us all bandwidth.
The Concept Works Like This:
Each time someone new visits your web page and joins us, they will take your banner (and the other two) with them and place them on their web site PERMANENTLY! And, your banner (and the other two) will also be on their page like this (yours in second position, theirs in first position). And, visitors to their site will also take your banner with them (you will now be placed in third position) and PERMANENTLY displayed on their high traffic page. To give you an idea of the numbers, look at this example:
10 visitors to your site take your banner, times 10 visitors to their sites (you are now in second place), times 10 visitors to the next ten sites (you are now the bottom banner) equals= 1,000 web sites displaying your banner PERMANENTLY! Of course, if any of the web sites have more than 10 visitors that join - well you can see how the numbers would grow. For instance, 15 visitors would be 3,375 web sites with your banner.
Those visitors that do not join will still see, and hopefully click-on, the banners displayed and visit a good number of our members web sites.
Periodically check your links... If a dead one is found, simply visit another member's site and download a replacement banner from there. This way some members will benefit from the extra exposure.
If you need assistance or have questions/comments, direct them to the webmaster of the site you joined from. If unresolved, contact HartEnterprises@hart1.com
