Northside Christian to honor our hero with gym!

Northside Christian Pastor Rev. Loyd Singley announced to his congregation on March 6th, 2005 that funds from the Seth Trahan Memorial Fund would be used to help construct the "Seth Trahan Memorial Gym" on the campus of the school.  While plans were indeed being made for a new gym, it was felt that this was a perfect way to honor our very own hero. The Trahan family gave the church and school the blessing to go ahead with the project, which will now progress with solid plans based on a similar facility located in Midland, LA.

Donations of any amount to Seth's Memorial Fund can be made and sent to:

Let's help make this dream happen!

It was announced in the summer of 2005, that they hope to have the Seth Trahan Gymnasium built by August 2006! The sketch of the gym, drawn by architect Ron Lawson of Crowley, was presented to the public on June 26, 2005.

"Every time I put on this uniform I take pride in it because I love the American flag on my right shoulder." - Seth Trahan

A memory of Seth was given to us by Amber, whose fiancee Jonathan, was the bunkmate of Seth's. She told us that the soldiers could dress up the beds anyway they wanted. While Jonathan opted for puppy dogs, Seth liked tie-dye :)

Amber showed us this photo of Jonathan. We thought we would add this photo to Seth's site.

Seth and Jonathan were friends through school, and when they went to Ft. Hood together, they became better friends. When they were deployed to Iraq, they became best friends. Jonathan recently told Amber that he misses his brother, and it's just not the same without him.

Jonathan had planned on asking Seth to be a groomsman at his wedding. They still plan to include Seth some way in their ceremony. And Randy, Seth's dad, will be performing the ceremony.

Jonathan is now back home from Iraq, and is getting back into civilian life for now. I am pretty sure he is happy to be back!

Seth's hometown of Crowley, LA pays tribute to him and a fellow hometown fallen soldier.

On May 5th, 2005, the City of Crowley held its annual National Day of Prayer service at the Rice Festival Building.  Hundreds gathered along with several church ministries to sing, pray, and reflect.  Seth and fellow soldier Ike Sinclair were the central honorees at this year's gathering.  Small statues honoring the two soldiers were given to Randy and Emma Trahan and to Mrs. Peggy Sinclair. Once again, my hometown has made me proud--Jude C.

Also Miller Stadium in Crowley flew the flag that flew in Seth's memory over the U.S. Capitol during the 2005 baseball season. (Seth was also a star baseball player for Northside Christian).
