Here is what the death certificate says
The death date on the certif. is, of course, accurate, but the birth date reported in it just says "about 1837" and the age is reported as "about 91".
The informant was Jerry Langan. I'm afraid the bottom line is simply that the first generation (Maurice and Margaret) just honestly didn't know their exact birth dates--why, I don't know. For birthplace, it just says " Ireland". It also says"don't know" for names of Maurice Langan's mother and father.
I have found them in several census records and the ages reported there don't always agree with each other --what a pain. Course, the census takers just interview whoever happens to be home when they knock on the door, so you never know who answered the census taker's questions. There are so many things that have errors in them. As you know, some of the obituaries have errors. Even Margaret Langan's tombstone in St. Patrick's cemetary has her name spelled "Margaret Langen", and I'm sure the age on it is wrong. The cemetary is a pretty little thing, on a hill and out in the country
