About Silkess Maltese - New Arrival Information
I have a small number of Maltese, so I do not have many litters, but I do have excellent quality, home raised healthy Maltese. This is not a kennel. My pups are raised and live in my home. I do not have any other breed of dog. I got my first Maltese in 1968, had my first litter in 1972, and finished my first Champion in 1973.
Some of my adults are champions, and my pups will usually have a champion mom and/or dad and 20-26 champions in their 4 generation pedigree. Pups are not placed in their new home until they are at least 12 weeks old and have had 2 combination shots. Most of my pups mature at 4-6 lbs. I do guarantee their health.
When I place a puppy as a pet, it is not being sold with an option to breed or show. My contract requires you to spay/neuter a pet puppy. I am careful to place each pup in a home that will best suit it's personality, as each pup has a personality "type". Getting the pup that will best fit your lifestyle is the best way to ensure that both the new owner and the pup will live "happily ever after".
I especially suggest you read the page "How To Buy A Puppy". This page will tell you how to find a reputable breeder and avoid buying a puppy from a puppymill or commercial breeder. Printing this page will allow you to have it in front of you when you make calls, so you can qualify breeders on the phone. I recommend you only buy from a breeder who is doing all 8 of the things on this page. Buying from a reputable breeder will help assure that the puppy you buy will meet your expectations, and be a healthy member of your family.

We Have A New Baby !!!!
This is Callie and her new baby boy born December 16, 2008. This picture was taken January 7, 2009, when he was 3 weeks old. He is a beautiful boy, healthy and strong. He will be available as a pet to a good home approximately March 10, 2009. Please call if you would like more information about Callie's boy.

Many people who view our available puppies live far from North Carolina and cannot travel here to get their puppy. If you fall in love with one of our puppies, we may be able to arrange to have your puppy hand delivered to you. Ask about this option when you call.
