CASAIR

THE GENESIS OF CASAIR

CASAIR is the outgrowth of:
SAM (Superanuated Associated Ministers) 1984
RAP (Retired Active Pastors) 1985; and
CAR (Clergy persons Actively Retired) 1986

CASAIR had its Genesis during the administration of Senior Bishop John Hurst Adams, and its Revelation is continuing during the adminstration of Bishop Adam J. Richardson Presiding Prelate, Second Episopal District, African Methodist Church.

Dr. M. Arthur Camper and Mrs Anna Cooper Camper (Deceased) became its founders, upon retirement from the Washington Annual Conference, April 1985.

Retirees are too often forgotten,espeially when they become incapacitated. Therefore CASAIR:
Maintains contact among the retired clergy and/or spouse;
Keeps their literary contributions in circulation;
Keeps them informed and useful; and
offers them encouragement and empathy.

Among its founding honorary members were:
Bishop Harrison James Bryant and Mother Edith Holland Bryant (both deceased);
Dr. Sherman L. Greene, Jr (General Officer, Ann Arbor, Michigan and Mrs Zadie M. Greene (deceased)
and
Dr. M. Arthur Camper (president, Kittrell College, 1960 -1962) and Mrs Anna Cooper Camper (deceased).

EMPATHIZING GOD'S LOVE IN SERVICE

LOGO FOR CASAIR
The Burning Bush
Exodus 3: 1-4

ABOUT THE LOGO AND THE MOTTO:

Exodus 3:1-4 tells of Moses seeing a bush on fire not burned.

Upon looking with awe and inquiry, God called him out of the midst of the bush, and he answered, "Here am I" We Who have answered the "Call of God" have responded similarly. "Here am I." and God still uses us.

This emblem, like unto the state of Israel, the church, and the followers of Christ, in various distresses and persecutions on fire are not burned.

We in retirement, often cast down and forgotten are not consumed. Why are all these preserved in the midst of those things which have a natural tendency to destroy them? Because GOD IS IN THE MIDST OF THEM. It was this that preserved the bush from destruction; and it was this that preserved the Israelites; and it is this, and this alone, that preserves the Church and all "Born Again" believers.

We who have--

"BEEN THERE, DONE THAT"
Understandably use our remaining energies, -

EMPATHIZING GOD'S LOVE IN SERVICE.

JAMES 5:13 - 15 Revised Standard Version

13 Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises.

14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven.that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
