1.
It may seem, a little thing,
but, it is my belief,
that it is, the little things,
that cause us, so much grief.
2.
I have come, to share with you,
the one thing, that I know,
I said "yes," too many times,
when I should have, just said "no."
3
I thought I'd do, what's pleasing,
just so they would not get mad.
So I'd say "yes," to just agree,
even though, it made me, feel bad.
4.
So many times, so many times,
I found it, so hard, to say "no."
But, there really, is an answer,
if you truly, wish to know.
5.
At last, I've learned my lesson,
and this is what, I have found true,
if I can't say "no," to others,
they'll plan, my whole life through.
6.
I was such, a people pleaser
kissing butts, so pleasantly,
there were so many, in butt-heaven,
but no heaven, left for me.
7.
In the end, I finally found,
that, no matter what I did,
when we found, no common ground
one of us, would blow our lid.
8.
I even, avoided, people,
because, I could not, tell them "no."
A victim to their pushiness,
it really, was my fault, I know.
9.
It's been so long, so very long,
since I took time, for me
I now say, "no," to others,
so I can say, "yes," to me.
10.
I do my, daily, practicing,
no matter, when or where, I go.
And even with my bestest friends,
I live the honesty of "no."
11.
The people that I trust the most,
the ones with whom, I choose to go,
I find all these, my best of friends,
are those to whom, I can say, "no."
12.
I have a new found talent
and I really must confess,
since, I have learned, to practice, "no,"
I now have time, for my own, "yes."
(repeat last two lines, slowly)
