Gertrude H. ( Barres ) SCHNEIDER 24 Jan 1911 Mrs. John J. Schneider Dead Mrs. J.J. Schneider died at the home of her son Peter Schneider at Dorr, Michigan, Tuesday evening, Jan. 23rd. Gertrude Barres was born in Germany in the year of 1840. At 16 years of age, she came to Ohio with her parents. When she was 25 years of age , she married John Joseph Schneider. They moved to Mercier County, Ohio and lived there 10 years and then moved to Jameston, Ottowa County, Michigan from there to Traverse City Michigan and after one year they moved to Kingsley. Mr. Schneider died 3 years ago and after his death, Mrs. Schneider went to Dorr Michigan to live with her oldest son. To their union were born 13 children 12 of whom survive her. These are: Mrs. Mary Schone, Mrs Anna Kipen, Joseph Schneider of Kinglsey, Mrs. Margaret Miller, Matt Schneider, Tony Schneider of Ohio, Peter Schneider, Nick Schneider, Mrs. Elizabeth Junglas, Mrs Gertrude Alflen, Mrs. Katie Dusendang, Mrs. Emma Kipen , all of Dorr, Mich. Besides her children she leaves: Five brothers, One sister, 53 grandchildren, 3 Great grandchildren. ___________________________ St. Mary's Church Salem Township Allegan County, Michigan There did not seem to be any family plots, burials taking place in the order or interment.
