Charlie Ward the brilliant and exciting signal-caller from Florida State was the first player to win the Heisman Trophy and a National Championship for the Seminoles. From the start of the 1993 season the spotlight was on Ward, who was the nation's premier quarterback. And he never failed to deliver a dazzling performance. He was as adapt at running the football as he was at passing it. And his leadership on the field was second to none. But most of all Charlie Ward was a gracious winner. You couldn't help but like a man with so much character. He is as popular today as he was in his playing days at FSU.
