~TWINS~ What is it like to be a twin? I wish I had a dollar for every time I was asked that question. It's hard to say, because I don't know what it's like NOT to be a twin, but I'll give you my thoughts on the subject because I've been an identical twin for over 7 decades, and if the good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise, we'll be around for a few more years. I guess I should start by telling you our names, and no, we don't have twin names. My sister's name is Gloria, named after Gloria Swanson, I know most of you reading this won't know who she was, but she was a really big movie star. My name is Betty, I don't know why, and I've always liked Gloria's name better than mine because it sounds so glamorous. We're about 2 or 3 months in this picture and we're not quite sure which is which but we think Gloria's on the left and I'm on the right. When we were born, twins were so rare that they took a picture of us in the hospital nursery and put it in the newspaper. Now you see twins everywhere and multible births are no big deal, (except to the mother.) ~continue~ Home
