When we were about 4 or 5 years old, Dad had a barber shop attatched to our house, and a lot of his customers wanted us to sing for them and they clapped and made a fuss over us and gave us money to buy candy. One of our favorite songs was "She'll Be Coming Around The Mountain", and of course Mom always dressed us alike. I think Dad got as big a kick out of it as anybody, and I guess we must have been a couple of little hams because we loved it.

I don't know if that's what started it or not but we have always loved music and did a lot of duets together, not professionaly but just for our own amusement. We even wrote a song and recorded it with her son's band as backup. I guess our love of music must have rubbed off on our children because, as I said her son has a band, and my daughter has played viola with several symphony orchestras since high school, and still does. We were also dancin' fools, but that's another story.

Mom never made a mistake, but poor Dad was at a loss till the day he died. One time I was babysitting Gloria's kids at her house while she and her husband went to a movie, and Dad stopped on his way home from work. We had a cup of coffee and talked for about a half hour and he went home.

I saw him later that evening and he asked me where I had been. Needless to say we had a good laugh when I told him about our cup of coffee together earlier. He always called us both, Sis, I think because he never knew which one he was talking to.
