POUL WINSLOW - Crown 300 |

This is a Poul Winslow Crown 300 which I purchased from DanPipes in Denmark (http://www.danpipes.dk - info@danpipes.dk). This is what they had to say about the Crown series, "The Crowns could be called 'The Poor Man's Winslow'. Handmade pipes but less detailed than Winslow's grade A to E pipes and also with molded stems.
"Crown 300 are smooth pipes with golden brown staining." There are five series of the Crown pipes shown on their site. The names, going from lowest to highest, are Crown 100 Viking, Crown 200, Crown 300, and Crown Collector. There is also a Crown Filter 9mm which is shown in the 100, 200, and 300 series. DanPipes describes each series of Crowns as follows: "Crown Vikings are partly rusticated pipes." "Crown 200 are smooth pipes with darker brown contrast staining." "Crown 300 are smooth pipes with golden brown staining." "Crown Collectors are smooth pipes with golden brown staining. The craftmanship is better than on the lower grade Crowns." Here is what their site had to say about this specific pipe: "Producer - Winslow Item no.2363 Type - Crown 300 Length / weight - 6.10 inch. / 2.93 oz. Description - Fancy Freehand, artistic" And an artistic, fancy freehand it indeed is! Look at the style and the aura of luxury this pipe has. A definite looker of a pipe! Not only that but it is larger than it appears in the photos. It is 2.50 inches in height and the diameter of the rim of the pipe at the widest point comes in at a very respectable 2.25 inches! DanPipes has a large and very nice selection of pipes and their site is easy to navigate through. |

Yes, you read the title correctly. Here is another Poul Winslow Crown 300 which I also purchased from DanPipes in Denmark (http://www.danpipes.dk - info@danpipes.dk). I liked the first one so well that when I saw this new and gracefully executed shape I knew I had to add it to my collection too. Please refer to the entry above for all the details on the Crown series.
Here is what DanPipes had to say about this specific pipe: "Producer - Winslow Item no. 3420 Type: Crown 300 Length / weight: 5,71 inch. / 2,68 oz. Description: Very artistic Freehand - a brand new shape?" Like the Karl Erik, Sitter, Grade B on the previous page, the styling of this pipe speaks of a certain elegance to me. I can't really describe the feeling but every so often I see pipes that have that essence to them and this is one of those times. It is not a monetary thing but rather one of flow, refined flair, and the overall style. Though the photos supplied by DanPipes are excellent in all regards; in this case, I get the impression more from the pipe in person and being able to view it from numerous angles than from the photos of it. DanPipes has a large and very nice selection of pipes. Their site is easy to navigate through, their service is top-notch, and shipping is very quick (six days Denmark to Oregon, USA) and highly efficient. |
STANWELL - Freestyle |

I purchased this strikingly attractive Stanwell Freestyle eye-catcher from DanPipes (http://www.danpipes.dk - info@danpipes.dk). Here is what they have to say about the Stanwell Freestyle series:
"Stanwell's distributor told us that the Freestyles are made by a couple of the apprentices at the factory - they simply get permission to do whatever they want with some of the bowls and the result can be quite surprising. "Typically only 12 to 48 pipes are made in each new finish but some of the experiments will most likely become official Stanwell series." |

| Like the Reiner Barbi on my other site (http://community.webtv.net/busisav/UniquePipes), this pipe is poetry in the form of a pipe. I love the graceful lines and the beautiful grain. I purchased this pipe from ShowMeCigars.com (http://www.ShowMeCigars.com - ShowMeCgrs@aol.com). |
