This guitar is the cornerstone of my collection.
It was originally owned by Pete Townshend. He smashed it up here, at the Melbourne (Fla.) Civic Auditorium back in the late 60's. However, he did not break the neck. After drilling the headstock, replacing the tuners, the nut, 2 frets, 1 bridge saddle (Jim Cook has the saddle. He wouldn't part with it, as that is his souvineer from the concert), 1 tone knob, 1 trem spring, the trem arm, repairing broken solder joints, and after some major adjusting on the truss rod; I have the working guitar you see before you. This guitar has been authenticated by Bruce Marion of Marion Music I have had this guitar since I was a teenager! |
