ABOUT POSTING

Our Discussion Forums are a secure place for fans of Burton Cummings and the Guess to meet and discuss topics related to the Guess Who, Burton Cummings and the members of the Guess Who. It is not meant to be a newsgroup or a news clearinghouse. Current News, concert dates, events, releases and information of historic content are already provided at the main website.

When Posting:

Please be respectful of each other. We are a diverse group of fans. In spite of our differences, we all have one thing in common: our love of the Guess Who.

Abusive posters will not be tolerated. Posting is a privilege. Don't lose your privilege.

-Off topic posts that are of general interest to the group may be posted only in the appropriate boards or on the Off Topic board. Threads may be moved to the appropriate board by Administration to keep the boards on topic.
-No flooding, trolling or spamming will be tolerated. (SPAM="Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages"

- Posts containing personal and private issues or personal agendas, about oneself or with/about another poster are not appropriate on the forums. Use our Private Message system or private emails rather than post these things to the group.

- Messages posted through the Private Message system must adhere to these and Hyperboards rules and guidelines.

- Problem posts and posters and questions about posting policies may be referred to the Forum Owner through PM. - Unreasonably repetitive topics and redundant threads will be removed, including "tired" topics which have run their course.

- When posting text such as news articles, reviews, etc from other websites, please include the URL of the source. We need that to determine whether or not reposting and re-distribution is allowed by the original source site or to edit and/or generate our own news articles on the topic if necessary.

- Overt adult/sexual content is not allowed. Solicitations and importuning are not allowed. Posts of this nature will be removed and a warning issued.
-No name calling or inflamatory posts are allowed. These include, but are not limited to, posts which are directed to other posters personal opinions. One can disagree with an opinion without attacking the person in an inflamatory or insulting manner. "Trolls" (posters trying to get people to react strongly) and "flames" (posts "striking out with words that add fuel to the fire") will be removed and users warned. See "Thre strikes" policy for more detail.

- Posts asking to buy, sell or to encourage the commercialised use of illegal and unauthorized recordings are not appropriate and any member who is found doing so will be deleted. The "Artificial Paradise Exchange" Trading board is set up to accomodate posts about GW/BC collectibles for Silver to Paramount Members only. The Guess Who have a long history and many of their fans (and members) collect all types of memorabilia. Members are expected to respect the wishes of the band concerning recordings of any type, (audio, video or downloads not in commercial release) and to respect these guidelines to continue to participate with us in discussing and trading collectibles. Discussions concerning collectibles and memorabilia should be posted in the APX area only. Posts concerning the trading of other collectibles and memorabilia of other musicians and groups are not allowed and will be deleted. Solicitations for members to buy or purchase services and spamming are not allowed. You may wish to join our Classic Top 40 Forum if you are interested in a wider variety of musical topics.

- This forum is generally not a soapbox platform to debate political, religious or cultural views, especially when those topics have nothing to do with the Guess Who specifically.
Keep things light and informative and post with a smile.
- Please don't attempt to repost the same post over and over. Hyperboards has a time out setting to prevent flooding and when the network is busy it may take a minute for the new data to be processed by the servers. Moderators also may move topics to another area of the discussion forums where the thread is more appropriate.

- Post at your own risk. Hyperboards and The Guess Who All Hashed Out Forums are not liable or responsible for any content or posts made by its users. See Hyperboards' TOS (Terms of Service) for further information on responsiblity of users.

PLEASE CHECK THE "FAQ & HELP" AREA BEFORE CONTACTING ADMINISTRATION AND KEEP EMAILS AND PRIVATE MESSAGES TO THE ADMINISTRATORS TO A MINIMUM. THE GUIDELINES ARE POSTED AND COVER POSTING POLICY. WE HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE TIME TO ANSWER MOST OF THE QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO USING THE DISCUSSION FORUM AND REGISTRATION.

Three strikes policy:

- Warnings will be posted to members who go too far out of bounds.

- A repeated offense will land you with 7 days blocked for first occurrence of inappropriate posts after a first warning.

-14 days for second

-Third time and you're banned.

When Luxton is active on the boards, post only general questions (NOT PERSONAL QUESTIONS) for Luxton.

BECOMING A MEMBER OF ALL HASHED OUT

There are advantages to becoming a member of the Guess Who All Hashed Out Forums. You will have access to members only areas for current news, reviews chatting, trading, support and feedback from other members, art and photo sharing, archives of past posts, and special areas for members of the Guess Who.

The more active you are in discussions, the more you'll get out of the Discussion Forums. YOU are responsible for your account and what you chose to read or discuss. If you don't remain active, that's your responsbility, just as it would be if you abandoned or neglected to keep current with any other account or membership.

Becoming a member also protects others from posting with your screen name or a nickname you wish to be known by and will allow you to view special areas not available to the gerneral public.

Please see the FAQs and Help section of the Forum for more detailed explanations and information about membership.

GUESTS AND MEMBERS

There are dozens and dozens of pages of information and activities available to the general internet surfer throughout the All Hashed Out Website. On the Homepage, you wil find The AHO Webzine with News, Reviews and Hot Topics in our Discussion Area by our Members. We also have a "perpetual chat" called "The Coffeehouse", trivia and interactive games and a scrapbook. If you have a question or comment or a story you'd like to share, you can post it in the Coffeehouse area. We have many other areas that are only accessible to active members depending on your activity level. The more you put into your membership the more you get out of it.

Those who sign up as a member but never post will discover that their membership won't advance. Inactive accounts are considered abandonned and become GHOSTS. Ghosts may utilize the Guest areas to post and re-activate their accounts. Both the Webzine and the Coffeehouse are available at the main website's Webzine & Coffeehouse

If you have become a registered member of the Discussion Forums and are not seeing those member only areas that you belong to, please check your member profile and see that you are logged in. If you are dlooged in but access is limited, its because you're account is idle.

If you do not post after receiving your temporary password, your membership will not be activated. If after becoming a member of the Discussion Forums, you have not activated your new membership by posting within the next scheduled maintenance mode sweep (15 days), your account becomes inactive or IDLE. If you are idle, you have up to 90 days to reactivate your account.

IDLE ACCOUTNS

If you've activated your account but haven't joined a discussion or started a new topic by the next scheduled maintenance mode swep, your account will become idle. Idle Members will have limited access to areas of the Forums until they re-activate their accounts.

If you have not posted after 90 days, your membership will be considered abandoned (Ghost). Past members may re-apply based on their interest in joining the Discussions Forums as shown by their activity in the Coffeehouse and Guest Areas. If after 24 hours you have not activated your re-newed account in the Discussion Forums, the account will not reset. Check the FAQs and Help Section for more details.

CHAT

If you once were a Discussion Member but have let your acount go inactive, you can use the guest areas to post and reset your account.

We do have special evening chats - Registered members of AHO are invited to join our bi-weekly chats. Our chatroom is secure and at times may be moderated. This means that chatters must be registered users of our chatserver CHATFIRST.COM for times when the the chat goes moderated. At times we may have members of the Guess Who or people closely associated with them as our guests. Our chatroom is set to provide security for those type chats as well and for added security, a key may be needed to enter the room when the chatroom fills up. At that time higher level members who are more active posters will be given the key and first come first serve access.

Guests or non-members/non registered Chatfirst users will be screened upon entering the chatroom and we reserve the right to deny access if your presence creates a problem for other chatters. No lurkers, trolls, squatters or spammers (senseless pointless annoying messages) are allowed and we will report any abuses to Chatfirst. We have found the more familiar you are with other members the more fun you'll have, but everyone is welcome.
