While in Wasington DC on Dec. 8-9, Harry Belafonte told the Wahington Post reporter
" he expected and hoped to perform at the Kennedy Center in the future ."
Nothing has appeared in the press yet about such an event, but I keep hoping.

HAITIAN NATION

" Cruising into History " initiative of the New York based " Haiti Support Project " will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Haiti's independance from France, by sailing from Miami to Haiti from Saturday, August 14 to Saturday, August 21.
Harry Belafonte's " To Haiti with Love ", A Tribute from the Caribbean, Central and South America.
Harry Belafonte has agreed to facilitate a performance featuring artists from the region for a musical tibute to Haiti.

Light Shines on Lead Belly duing stellar tribute...

The show got off to a shaky start with a rambling introductory speech by Harry Belafonte.
Some two hours later,the gig ended abruptly after Pant and Los Lobos conspired on a plaster-ratling " Gallows Poles ." A planned all-star finale failed to materialize.
