G 12th Infantry (Philippines). While on sentry duty on July 24th, 1904 he was accused of killing a Philippino. He was found not guilty and released August 25th, 1904. The case went all the way to the Supreme Court. Gregg, Maxey b.1814 - d.1862 (Mexican War). Major of the 12th U.S. Infantry. During the Civil War he was Colonel 1st Rgt. South Carolina Infantry and promoted to Brigader General C.S.A. He was mortally wounded at Fredericsburg. Died Dec.15, 1862. Grimm, Warren O. 1Lt., 12th Infantry (WWI era). b.1888 - d.1919. Rucker, John A. "Tony" Lieut. 12th In. (Indian Wars) in 1878 accidentally drowned (along with Lt. Henley) crossing a rver in White River Canyon, AZ during the Victorio Campaign. He went to rescue Lt. Henley and bothwere drowned [now known as Rucker Canyon]. Rucker was in command of Indian Scouts. Camp Rucker, AZ was named after him.
