Our strategy was to divide the day into three separate times of ministry:

• From late morning till about 2 or 3 p.m - we split into two teams of four, then went into the crowds spilling out from Main Street, where our focus was personal Gospel tract distribution to the masses

• After taking a break, we all headed into an area of public housing to share Christ with the folks there till dark

• The final time took us back to the downtown streets, where the 'party' was in full swing. Here we again targeted getting out thousands of Gospel tracts to the people on the streets, and talking with anyone God crossed our path with about the love of God in Christ Jesus

Gameday - It was great to worship together in a local congregation there, in Houston, on Sunday morning. THAT is the main thing on Superbowl Sunday, or any other day...to WORSHIP THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, JESUS CHRIST! After church, the 8 man team divided into four again...

• Four of the men went to the sidewalks outside the Superbowl stadium itself, and sought to distribute tracts and engage people in conversations in order to preach the Gospel to them. This is always a 'tough crowd,' in that most of them are interested in the game and celebrating and NOT hearing God's call to leave their sin and come to salvation in Jesus Christ. In spite of resistance, thousands recieved Gospel tracts and some recieved the unspeakable Gift of God, being born again.

• Four of us were assigned to work as evangelists among the approximately 1500 gathered at a local church for one of the many "Watch Parties" in the city and nation. This church did a beautiful job of setting up big screens throughout their gymnasium, classrooms, foyers and hallways so that their members and their guests could come and watch the game in a wholesome atmosphere. This group of believers had invited their entire community, and many brought their unsaved family and friends. There was plenty of food and games and fellowship. After Janet Jackson's shameful halftime show, three of us evangelists were able to preach in three different areas of the church...27 PEOPLE GAVE THEIR LIVES TO CHRIST AS A RESULT!

WHAT DID GOD DO AT THE SUPERBOWL?

• 293 received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour

• Over 35,000 Gospel tracts were distributed by the team

• Many prodigals decided to come home to God

• Often during the days and nights someone would come to us and ask us to pray for them. It is a beautiful thing to pray for someone like that in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the crowd
