Contrary to the name, and the fact that I live in one of the states connected by the classic asphalt highway, this section is a group of sites spreading news about each other's sites on the information superhighway.

The Route 66 Network is for webmasters of 50's, 60's and 70's music websites, including TV and other sites related to the era.
Route 66 is a new-styled webring where instead of having a normal webring, each member site sets aside one page on our websites where we would post news on what's happening at other members' sites.
To help accomplish this, a new Yahoo Group was set up where members can post what they would like to have included on all the Route 66 Network pages, and when each webmaster updates his/her site, the Route 66 pages will be updated correspondingly.

All of these sites have contact points and voting links, so make sure you give your feedback and support. :)

Brand X Online Group

New And Nifty: We're happy to announce that we have something new in the fun zone - free email!! We had this service once before on a previous incarnation of the site, but to be honest I lost the passcodes for it! LOL! Never mind - the all new email service (powered by Zap Zone Networks) is available now via the "fun" section on the Brand X home page.

I have added a live review from a charity gig last January, you'll find it in the features section by following the Dakotas link or the Dozies link. Plus the Ebay listings were updated yesterday with one or two goodies inclusing some classic telly stuff too.

I've started my SS60s 2004 page on the site. Only the Graphics are in place at the moment but I hope to have a nicely written review up there very soon. (Don't forget you can follow what I'm upto in the Brand X Weblog too. Instant reactions are posted there as soon as I get to a computer after an event!)
I've also updated the e-cards. There's 12 to chose from currently and 9 groovy backgrounds. Keep an eye on this section as I'll do more work on it soon. What do you think, should I add some music files too?
The forum is regularly updated with news and reviews so do keep checking back there whenever you can. And please do feel free to join in any discussions - it's free to register as a forum member and only takes a second.
Not updated the links page yet, that's going to be a big job - but in the mean time if you have a site that wants a link email me with the details. You can also pop over to the forum and post links on there.

at the other night. My itinerary can be found on the gigs page.
A new layout is currently being worked on as well as colour schemes and also I want to give you, the user, the chance to tell me what you like and dislike about my site, what you want me to change and what you would like to see up there in the future. I've created a form
for submission but I just have a few finishing touches to make to it.
Apart from these, my reviews are up to date with my last gig at Leeds
in March. I have recently added a fascinating history of the Hollies that appeared in Record Collector from September 1988 to November
1988. There's a review and pictures from when I met Graham Nash last March!!

Liverpool Gig review and photos have been posted in the gigs section, look out for Malvern and Leeds coming this month!
More trivia and magazine articles have been added and I'm just starting a 'Latest News' page for site updates as well as Hollies news! I've added a new guestbook as well as a 'Links' page! If you have a website/ know one that I should add please email me.
Brand new entrance pages to the site, including one page with guestbook, forum, mailing list and other related pages on it! The mailing list for new updates is also new! Plus a monthly poll! This month, pick your favourite Hollie from the 1963-1966 line up! Continous updates on trivia, biographies etc. if you have any info please feel free to contribute!
Carl Wayne's biography has now been fully added to the website and this month a trivia page will definately be appearing plus a couple of new articles have been added to Archive Alive.
Archive Alive is a relatively new addition to the website, hopefully if any of you have any articles regarding the Hollies be they in magazines, books or radio transcripts etc. then you may like to send them to me and I will add them to Archive Alive. Thanks!

Vote for your all time faves from the 50's and 60's, remember to check back each week to see who's in the current vote or check out the main page for future poll's.
Last year Cliff Richard won so who will it be in 2004?

Wayne, the webmaster of Swinging 60s Zone, is "looking into the idea of having a page on my website called The Fans Zone where fans of any 50's or 60's act can tell other people why they liked or still like the acts today. This includes stories of meetings or even if a song has in some way become an important part of your life. Lots of people have a song that makes them think back to times gone by. So if you have something like above please e-mail me as I and many vistors to the site would be very interested in it. Any pictures sent please need to be owned by the person sending it. Also most welcome will be pictures of fans and stars together."
Got any good stories to add? Let Wayne know. Also sought: what makes us "Number One Fans" of our favorites, first concerts, campaigns in honor of our favorites, etc.

The 2003-2004 Battle Of The Stars Final: The Beach Boys 1%; Billy Fury 27 8%; Cliff Richard 52%; George Harrison 38%
Starting January Battle of the Stars 2004 will be here and including some major changes.
1st of the first rounds poll will be for one week only.
2nd please take a look at the names and e-mail me if you feel someone or group has been missed, but as I said please check it's not there before you write.
As long as the act were recording in the 50's or 60's and made it to the charts anywhere in the world they can be included.
As on the Battle of the Stars page you can see the acts that will so far be in the poll in 2004, the colours of each act will show you already who they will be up against in the battle.
So if you would like your fave act here in 2004 please let me know. Deadline for this is December 20th 2003 E-mail
Wayne.
