Field Guide Errata
Even the best publications make inadvertent mistakes, and/or the information becomes outdated. Until the revised edition is published, you can find errors listed here. Thank you for your understanding and tolerance of my limitations.
Page 105: The insects in the image labelled "Margarodidae sp." are likely immatures (nymphs) of Achildae or Cixiidae (pages 96-97).
Page 123: The upper image of the two "squash bugs" is actually another "opuntia bug." Sorry.
Page 125: Plate image of Zicrona caerulea is misspelled "Zicronia>."
Page 147: Bolboceras in North America has been changed to Odonteus.
Page 172: The "brown leatherwing" is now Pacificanthia consors.
Page 184: Derobrachus geminatus is now Derobrachus hovorei.
Page 202: The "margined blister beetle" is Epicauta funebris (E. pestifera is an outdated name).
Page 336: Solitary wasps on pages 336-339 (excepting Tiphiidae) are now classified in the family Crabronidae (not Sphecidae).
Page 354: Polistes dominulus is properly spelled Polistes dominula.
