My Bunnel/Bunnell Family
I am a direct descendant of Levi Bunnel and Lois Mosher. They are my gggrandparents. Levi was born abt 1790/1791 in the Town of Clinton, Dutchess Co. NY. 0n Nov. 13, 1813, Levi married Lois Mosher at the First Presbyterian Church of Pleasant Valley located in the Town of Pleasant Valley, Dutchess Co. The Church Records note that Lois was the dau. of Richard B. Mosher and Phebe Husted; Levi, the son of Noah Bunnel and Rebeckah... all of Stanford.
I found this information in records at the Dutchess County Historical Society, Poughkeepsie, NY, in 2002. Up to that time (2002), no one knew when or where Lois and Levi had married or anything about Levi's ancestors... and of course there was nothing about my gggrandparents descendants. The only information available back then was the following in the book 'Hugh Mosher and His Descendants' - Lois Mosher m. Levi Bunnel - nothing else!!
Question - What to do about people who copy your information and then refuse to give you credit? The woman I contacted (who shall remain un-named) claims she got the information from "OTHER people through HER HARD WORK" (her words). I had left a Post-Em (note) on her site at the WorldConnect Project (Rootsweb) and she DEMANDED that I change the wording of my remarks - which in effect said that I was the source of the information on Levi and Lois' marriage; their son William Jackson Bunnell and HIS descendants and asked that I be given credit for what was MY research. When I refused to change what I had written, she deleted my note... which, of course, was within her rights... and completely ignored my request for credit.
I AM ANGRY - VERY, VERY ANGRY!! MY 'hard work' has suddenly become SOMEONE ELSE'S 'hard work'. The very least this person should have done is give me the credit I deserve! Don't know what to do about it, so telling my story on the web is my way of getting even ... Ah, REVENGE - IT IS SO SWEET!! :-)
