This feeder was designed to feed different butterflies, offering different feeding options: butterflies can nectar from fermenting fruit on top, or for butterflies with short proboscises, they can nectar from wicks that carry nectar from he resevoir below. There are also a series of tubes that imitate flowers with tubed nectaries for butterflies with longer proboscises. Sold in garden shops and garden magazines around the U.S.

This "butterfly house" was designed as an attracive conversation piece AND as a winter shelter for Red Admirals, Questions Marks, Mourning Cloaks and Tortoiseshells that overwinter, as adults, in hollow logs, trees and woodpiles. Avoid butterfly homes made of cedar (why do you suppose that you keep your fine woolens & linens in a CEDAR Chest?? It is because cedar kills moths. What kind of moron do you suppose thought that one up??)
