Fall in Michigan!

The trees are changing and the tempatures are falling and there are still many, many animals looking for new homes. Although, Michigan has been the hardest hit state for unemployment, we are people with big hearts even through the most difficult of times.

Adoptions are steady and fundraising events have been very sucessful. Many people love their pets and can imagine life without a furry friend to share it with, but with the rise in foreclosures, many of the dogs and cats who have had families are suddenly being dropped off at rescues and shelters or sometimes, just being left in the house to starve to death.

It's always a "good thing" when I'm contacted by a rescue saying they need more "blankies", because that means more cats and dogs are getting new homes and that's always a "good thing".

Thanks for all your help!!!! I certainly couldn't provide these blankets without the generousity of caring people! Any supplies, fabric, thread, batting and etc., no matter how small, help to make over 1000 blankets each and every year. Thank you!!!

Well, gotta go, there's more blankets to be done.
Thanks for your support!!!!!!

Critter Comforts: Quilts for Homeless Animals

Thanks to Susan Gavorin for my beautiful card design.

Isn't she just adorable, napping on her quilt from Critter Comforts. She is one of many of the spring puppies available for adoption from the Bellowood Rescue.

What it's all about!

Nicole from Silver Lake Rescue sent this to me and I thought I'd pass it on to all of you.

When calling to check on a previous adopter they said..."you know that blanket you sent with Zach?  Please never stop doing that"!  They said that when he wants a nap he will go get his blanket, carry it to his favorite spot, make a little "nest" in it and go to sleep.

Resq4Paws

Here's another wonderful dog waiting for a home to call his own. He's ready to go blankie and all. He and many more great dogs are available at Resq4Paws.

Peke A Tzu

Devas checks out the new quilt made especially for the wonderful dogs at Peke A Tzu rescue. For more information on the great dogs available, go to www.pekeatzurescue.com

These are the current rescues your donations help.

Quilting for the Animals

When fabric arrives from a kind and generous person, it is divided by color and then by size. I use three size categories: 1) backing size, 2) medium size to cut squares of 4", 6" or 8", 3) small scraps for crazy quilting.
Using this system allows me to utilize every possible piece of fabric.

If you would like to help, please contact me at crittercomforts@webtv.net

I am always accepting unwanted washable fabric including cottons, knits, denim, polyester, fleece, flannel and etc.
Also any color of thread and UPCs(barcodes) from Hobbs brand battings.
Thank you for your support!
