THE COWCATCHER'S DAUGHTER (1931)

Sassy Marge Martin (Marjorie Beebe) striking a pose

OUR FIRST FEATURED MARJORIE BEEBE FILM

WE THINK ITS ONE OF HER BEST, one of several she made in which she played the title role. The title sounds as if Mack Sennett was giving a nod to Marjorie's great triumph with Fox, "The Farmer's Daughter", which for the moment at least, appears to be lost.

It's a two reeler, just over 20 minutes long, but well made, and an excellent vehicle for Marjie Beebe's comic skills. This little film shows Beebe at her charming, wayward, madcap best.

  WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

It's about a wild cowgirl whom her Pop wants to marry off to his boring old foreman. But she's got other ideas- particularly when a tall dark handsome cattle inspector turns up unexpectedly at the ranch.
