We are the DELTA CHILDREN--just CLEO AND I.We are underground, and have no interest in being a part of a big city blues click. We don*t need no BIG BOSS MAN.What does the blues mean to me. It means being eighteen years old and finding your first child dead, it means driving a taxi cab in l967 and having a cop tell you to park it because the city is buring,It means marrying three men who want you to be beautiful, working, smart, and dumb. It means changing bandages, and cleaning up the blood, but having the boss say

*you didn*t do enought. It means almost being killed three times by people you trusted. It means forgiving a family that stops speaking to you because a cult told them you were evil. It means having pain so bad you think you will never walk again, but being to proud to tell anyone. A true blues woman dosen*t just say *look at me*, she says feel some of what i feel, and maybe we can help each other. Blues is more than about my own selfesh little problems, it is the problems of the world. love you alll Mary

The Delta Children at the Old Miami around l994

I can no longer run around the stage like I use to and play guitar. Oh, *the things use to do, I can*t do no more. They tell me I still got a pretty good old voice and can still play some lowdown blues., sitting down. Got to take it easy. We would love to see or hear from some of our old band or some ot the ones we played with. Hi Tony Berci, Steve McCaunghly, yell, I still misspell you name, where is the great Paul Buliot?, and Emmitte, we have been trying to reach you. Quinton Harris is in New York. Love you Quinton.
