Flight Tests on N322DG

After flying my plane to Jerseyville, from Smartt Field (on it's first flight), I flew out of there for awhile. My hangar at Smartt didn't get very wet, after all, and I could have gone back there sooner, but I liked the idea of flying my test flights off of grass.

On July 1st I did a demo flight for family. This was my second flight, but it went well. I am still getting exhaust fumes in the cockpit, however, and need to work out that problem before I go on any extended flights!

Doing pre-flight check.

Engine start-up.

Start of takeoff run.

"High speed" flyby.

Landing.

Takng back to the hangar - past some of my family.

Virginia and Mark Kasman, Ginny and Maddie.

Putting it back in the hangar. It was a good day!!

I dicided to put some ballast in the front of the plane. It feels marginally stable in pitch and I felt it would behave better with the c.g. further forward. This picture shows the holder that I made for the weight.

This shows the eight pound sledge hammer weight installed. (October 2008)
