MONTHLY MEETING ACTIVITIES

Thursday, November 5, 2009, 7:00-9:00 p.m. doors open at 6:30 for refreshments and Meet & Greet.

Join us this month as ABS member, Marisa Fowler, teaches us the St. Petersburg Chain stitch.  She has used this stitch to create a beautiful lariat (see photo).  Those who have seen the real thing know that the photo does not do it justice.

For a 45 inch lariat, you will need 35-40 grams size 11 seed beads (this translates to approximately 2 six inch tubes); 300 2mm or 3mm fire-polished beads (size 8 seed beads may be substituted); size 12 beading needles and Nymo D, 4lb test Fireline, or 5lb test Powerpro.  You will also need coordinating beads for the fringe, two 10-12mm focal beads, eight various 6-8mm beads, and fifty to sixty 3-4mm beads (you can use some of the leftover fire-polish from the chain).

Of course, don't forget to bring your beading mats and task lamp, if needed.

See you there!  Don't forget to bring something for Show & Tell.
