The Mine Group Commander's Station is represented by a M or M' symbol enclose by a circle.

A Mine Group is a tactical unit for the employment of controlled submarine mines provided for the defense of a given water area, together with the armament, structures, personnel, equipment and vessels necessary for the planting, operation and protection of the mine field(s).

The Mine Group Commander insures the orders of the Harbor Defense Commander are carried out to deny the enemy entrance of his main units into the water areas being defended. In the event of a disruption of communications with the harbor defense elements, the senior officer present, directs the employment of the mine group elements in acordance with the Battle plan drawn up for the anticipated attack, unless events dictate otherwise.
