Robert was born in Christiansburg VA in 1896 . He moved to Mercer County WV in 1906 and attended schools at McComas WV.
Clora was born in Mt Airy NC in 1903. She moved to McDowell County WV where she attended schools.

They lived in Mercer and McDowell Countys in West Virginia. The majority in Maybeury. Robert was an employee of the Appalachin Electric Power Co. (Welch, Coalwood and Switchback) 34years until his retirement in 1961. Clora had four children and was a homemaker all her married life. After his retirement they moved to Bluefield WV and enjoyed the remainder of their lives. Robert passed away on April 16, 1979. Clora moved to the West Virginia Manor Apts in Bluefield where she died in 1989..
