ALBANY NIGHTBOAT RAGTIMERS

Authentic danceable Ragtime and oldies

Origin

The name "Albany Nightboat Ragtimers" was conceived by San Clemente "Dixieland Jazz by the Sea" Festival organizer, Frank Sano, who wanted a ragtime trio to present the music of the period from about 1918 to 1939 when excursions up the Hudson River were popular. The music was provided by
Dance Bands and Ragtime groups on these large riverboats during their overnight trips.

The group has appeared at six of the annual San Clemente Dixieland Jazz Festivals and at various events locally including a videotaped program for use on the orange county cable tv news channel.

The group participated in The West Coast Ragtime Festival Nov 19-21 2004.

They will appear at San Clemente Jazz Festival June 6, 2009.

Also: Ragtime Festival at Steamers Cafe in Fullerton California on Oct 17-18, 2009. (714) 871-8800.
