Harmony of Life With Harmonic Eve

Life Can Be Harmonious

The lessons of life can be learned through dissonance or through harmony. I choose harmony.

This is a family-friendly website.
This is a website about LOVE...
Love of one person for another, and
LOVE of someone or something in the universe
greater than any one human being.

The word "Love" can mean many different things. Here's just one interpretation of that word, but not an especially happy one. Sometimes the unhappy feelings need to be acknowledged before the happy feelings can take their place.

The Emptiness Where an Ember Lies
by Eve Adam, a.k.a. Harmonic Eve

I feel within my heart an emptiness
Where lies an ember burning still.
My love is felt as only loneliness
Like fever felt as only chill.
"Come to me," my heart is constantly
Repeating; "Come to me."

From "Afterglow: A Piano Suite With Optional Lyrics" (#13)

Although there is nothing on this site that a child should not see, there may be many things in which a child might not be interested.

I began making websites on March 15, 2001, and all of my many sites have been made through either Page Builder by MSN TV (WebTV) or Trellix by EarthLink. You now are in my very first website. Even though you may find references to my name, my poetry, or my lyrics in sites made by other people if you look for "Harmonic Eve" in a search engine, EACH of my OWN sites will contain in its URL either "community-2.webtv.net" or "home.earthlink.net." (Sometimes the "-2" may be omitted.) Note that the usual "WWW" portion of a URL is NOT part of the URL for any of my own sites.

My name on the Internet is HARMONIC EVE (harmoniceve). My name at one time was Phyllis Weiler. My musical compositions mentioned in this website and the lyrics I wrote for this music were officially, legally, copyrighted under this name (Phyllis Weiler) before the days of websites. Feel free to make your own printed copies of these lyrics as well as the poems, following the guidelines below.

Some sound has been added now to sites I created through EarthLink's Trellix. Here's a link to one of them:

The name of the site you are in now
was at one point changed by the addition of the words, "With Harmonic Eve." This caused a change in the URL, adding "With" after "Life." Thus some previously saved links will not work. To remedy this, I made an additional site, using the previous name. The purpose of the newer site with the older URL is to prevent "Not Found" error messages.

By clicking on a link created BEFORE the name change, you are likely to reach a page at the newer site which now would be designated by the older URL. There you will find a link to the exact page number in this original site that you are seeking. All links in the "Clickable Table of Contents" below have been adjusted to work without going through the additional site.

However, because of the size of the site in relation to the way the site creation tool "Page Builder" works, correction of most of the "home" links is impossible. Please use your "back button" from each page instead of a "home" link. If you accidentally click on a "home" link, you will probably be taken to the first page of that site with the original shorter name, mentioned above. You should be able to find your way back to THIS home page from the link at the top of the page there.

The beauty of a rose has often symbolized the beauty of LOVE.

Printed Copies

Guidelines for making your own printed copies:

If you wish to print from your computer (or set-top box) copies of any of my LYRICS or POEMS, feel free to do so, but please keep my name as author attached to the copy you make. Also, with the author name attached, you may make printed copies of any of the items by Violet or Bebe, my "Prayer for An Absent Loved One," both pages of "Who Am I?" and my "Six Steps to Forgiveness." Graphics are minimal on these pages to make copying easier. Please note that although throughout the site the name is always "Harmony of Life" or "Harmony of Life With Harmonic Eve," each page has a separate URL, and thus it should be easy to print it separately from other pages. (Each title in the table of contents actually links to a separate URL "behind the scenes.")

Clickable Table of Contents

Click on a title below. It is possible to page through the site by clicking "next page" at the bottom of each page. However, the table of contents gives you more choice in what to view next, as the site is quite long, and items are not in the same order as in the contents table.
(Remember not to expect sound.)

The Essence of Compassion (This is the best advice I have ever read or heard)

"Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and wrong... because sometime in your life you will have been all of these." (Quotation marks appear in the caption of the framed picture from which this was copied, but author name did not appear.)

Eve Adam's Own Advice:
How to Get Through Life

by Eve Adam, a.k.a. Harmonic Eve

Grab on to every joy you find;
Remove no one else's joy.
You never need to live a life without joy, nor do I.
What is life without joy? What is life without love?
Too bleak to be tolerated!
So let passions be moderated,
Embrace each beautiful moment,
Bless each trial as a gift,
And learn the lesson it sends.
Life has its share of both ---
Some moments enjoyable, some disturbing.
Grasp each moment you can enjoy,
Learn from everything else,
And above all else, fill your heart with LOVE,
For nothing else satisfies.

Trivia Question and Answer:

Question: In the song "Crying for the Moon Man" by Eve Adam, a little girl who wanted her father to give her the moon is mentioned; did this ever happen in real life?

Answer: Yes. It happened to Bebe, who was an orphan by the age of nine. When she was much younger and did not understand it was not possible, she asked her father to give her the moon. She was even crying because he refused. This was one of Bebe's favorite memories of her father, and she told it several times to her granddaughter Sunshine. Little did Bebe realize that within three years of her writing her letter of family memories, there would be men walking on the moon. (See last link in "Violet, Susan and Bebe" above for Bebe's description of her early life.) Sunshine, a.k.a. Phyllis Eve Adam, a.k.a. Harmonic Eve

Sheet music is now available for you to print from your computer for free.

Lyrics to "Crying for the Moon Man" can be seen by clicking on the first song listed in the Clickable Table of Contents above. In addition, the SHEET MUSIC for the same song is now on its own web site, and you may print it from your computer for free. A link to that sheet music site is now on page 2 of "Harmonic Eve Extras," where links to my sites will always be up-to-date. Harmonic Eve, March 2005

Some links to my other sites have been added to the page with Violet's poem, "Love Ascended." Because of the way Page Builder works and the length of this site, I can no longer get into the later pages to make any changes. I can not even add page breaks without having the URL to each page automatically point to a page you are NOT choosing. See the links below for more up-to-date clickable lists of my other sites.

Lyrics and Sheet Music
for "Valentine Letter"

"Valentine Letter," the very first piece in my "Afterglow" suite, is the only one that has lyrics without sheet music yet on the Internet. When I wrote it so many years ago, before we all started using the Internet, I wanted it to appear easy enough to play so as not to have anyone passing it up for being too difficult. The music itself has a sound indicating a change in time signature. I tried to hide the change by using accent marks to indicate where the strong beats belonged. I should have done the right thing and boldly shown the true number of beats per measure by actually showing the time signature change. My attempt to simplify the music did not work to my satisfaction. My later attempt to make changes to the measure divisions on my only usable copy made the copy no longer presentable. At that time I was not planning to share the music with anyone but prospective publishers. I expected to have plenty of interest in making another hand written copy. I got busy holding a job instead of being a stay-at-home housewife/mother. I put the music in a drawer without sending it to publishers. Now if I want anyone to play the piece, I must copy each note AGAIN. I have no desire to get out the pen and India Ink, so I must find and learn a computer program that will print the notes before I can scan a copy for you to view. I have been letting other projects take priority over that task. Is anyone waiting to play the music?
