Eve Adam, a.k.a. Harmonic Eve

Eve, a Garden, and Uncle Claude

My earliest memory is of Uncle Claude playing the violin while his lovely wife Eve danced in a long red dress.

The piano is my instrument but my Uncle
Claude taught me to love the violin before I was two and a half, just by playing so beautifully.

For an actual portrait photo of my Uncle Claude with his violin, click on the link to the page that tells much more about him. He was my grandmother Bebe's second child, two years younger than my mother. (The link will take you to another of my web sites, so I hope you will find your way back here.)

I call myself Harmonic Eve (harmoniceve).

Music will always be a part of my life. Violin, viola, and cello I understand somewhat, piano I understand well, and CD's I understand even better.

Besides myself as Harmonic Eve,

we have Eve who was Uncle Claude's wife, and

we have Eve of "The Garden of Eve." (more about her later.)

Music, art, and the written word all contribute to the beauty of life and make the learning of life's lessons less painful. Here, although you are finding mainly the written word, much music and much art shaped the life portrayed. It has been a life filled with some pain and much beauty. This web site is dedicated to LOVE and the Harmony of Life.

Beauty can be found through art, through music, and through the harmonious relationships we have with others.

Watch over her, my Father;
Protect her from all harm.
Strengthen her and comfort her
As you strengthen and comfort me.
Be with her now while I can not.
Your Love is even greater than mine,
For mine I first must obtain from you.

We have all heard of Eve of the "Garden of Eden."

Most of the flowers you have been viewing are from a web site called "The Garden of Eve."

This is not Eve, but doesn't she look here as if she COULD be? She is really my pen pal Gai, and she lives in Australia. A letter can take nine days to reach her from my home in California, while e-mail and MSN Messenger allow us to communicate despite time and distance. One of our many shared interests is in music from Broadway shows and movies. Did you know it is summer in Australia when it is winter in the United States? In August Australia is seventeen hours ahead of the state of California, while in December, Australia is nineteen hours ahead. That is because Australia has moved their clocks ahead to their summer time, while California has gone back from Daylight Saving time to Standard time. Most of Christmas Day in Australia is still Christmas Eve in California. It can even be the year 2002 for Gai while it is the year 2001 for me (as it is right now while I am writing this.)

Please don't go away yet; there is much more I want to share with you on the many pages to follow.

"Violet's Story for Sunshine," and the introduction to it can be found on the next pages. (Click "next page" at the the bottom right.) The kitten graphic and my photo with Strawberry on the very next page could be shared directly from the web site with the child to whom the story is read. There is nothing on this site that a child should not see; there are only things in which a child might not be interested. The only thing I think you might possibly want your child to avoid is in an earlier page. It is the four word phrase "took his own life," referring to my son in "Who Am I? page two."......it was a situation I could not avoid.

Eve Adam: The Daughter of Violet and Mother of Susan (but not the violet award Susan)

Tall and tan and young and lovely are the song lyrics going through my mind, but since I am moderately short, unable to tan, and no longer young, I'll just hope this picture helps to satisfy the curiosity you might have about me. Athletic shoes and jeans are quite normal attire in California, which may be a little less formal than much of the United States.

By the time the photo below was taken I had dropped the "Phyllis" from my name and had been married to my second husband for eight years. My daughter had presented me with grandchildren. By this time there was one school-age grandson and there were two granddaughters not yet in school.

The children were so active when they came to visit that we didn't have time to stop and grab a camera. Instead each grabbed a different musical instrument and it sounded like the music building at the college where I learned music theory. Once there were three children, I seldom had a chance to visit with only one at a time. I remember taking my grandson to a bank once and finding it difficult to keep him in line with me. I remember taking the older granddaughter to the grocery store and being pleased that she looked enough like me that people were surprised she was my granddaughter instead of my daughter. I remember the younger granddaughter talking excitedly with me on the phone when she was just learning to enjoy talking. Now I can remember family events well enough to understand the comments of my pen pals about their young grandchildren. Eve Adam, February 2003
