I've come to the conclusion
That lovesickness isn't my song.
I'm through with that illusion
That everything is going wrong.
If you concentrate
On the empty plate
Or the hole that's in your sock,
Then happiness will have to wait,
And you'll miss opportunity's knock.
So I'll pick up the pieces of my broken heart
And hum a little happy little tune.
I've made up my mind to make a new start
And give up crying for the moon.
I'll ask myself just what is mine
And see what a lot I've got.
Won't whine or pine, its a waste of time
To count all the things you have not.
I'll dry up all the tears from my long hard cry,
And find something better to do.
