Harmonic Eve's #8 Afterglow Song: I'll Pick Up the Pieces

You may print this sheet music from your computer for free.

Words and music by Eve Adam, a.k.a. Harmonic Eve (formerly Phyllis Eve Weiler)

"I'll Pick Up the Pieces" is the 8th piece in my piano suite.

On the following seven pages of this web site you will find scanned images of my original India Ink manuscript of "I'll Pick Up the Pieces." It is the eighth piece in my composition titled "Afterglow: A Piano Suite With Optional Lyrics." Not all of the fourteen pieces in that suite contain lyrics, but this one does. This, like my other compositions already on the Internet, was composed by me when I was a young stay-at-home mother. My name then was Phyllis Eve Weiler. I copyrighted this piece in 1961 as part of the complete suite by sending two copies of the suite plus a fee to the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Now I am publishing it on the Internet and giving you permission to make copies for your personal use from your computer (or set-top box) for free. Normal size paper (8 1/2" x 11") and normal black ink are sufficient. I have found that it is not necessary to use landscape orientation. Portrait orientation works well for this particular piece, even though landscape orientation is better for others I have already presented.

In the original manuscript of the suite as a whole, this 8th piece was spread out from pages 17 through pages 21. For this web site, I have tried to keep the pages a convenient size, and thus some pages show the original page numbers and others do not. The page numbers indicated in the text above the images indicate the re-numbering for a stand-alone copy of this one piece. Each web site page has a separate URL and
each should be printed as a complete page to include the page numbering. The colored background will not show on your printed copy.

My suggestion is that you try a steady, moderately slow tempo when you are first learning to play this piece. Be careful in observing the key signature and accidentals. Work up to a faster tempo once you are familiar with the correct sounds. Have fun with it! Harmonic Eve, March 28, 2005
