Eve Adam, also known as Harmonic Eve

Ever ready every day to send the good word: LOVE

Most musicians consider harmony to be a part of the study of music; to me music is a part of the study of a harmonious life.

Just as music theory is useless unless it helps one to understand music itself, so theories regarding human behavior are useless unless they can lead to a better understanding of life itself. Love is the mystery of life, the goal of life, and the means to a better life. Love is within each of us and does not need an object of desire. The object of the study of LOVE is to bring each of us closer to that which we call "God" or a "Higher Power," or "Nature," or "He" or "She," ("Him" or "Her") or "Father-Mother God" ("Mother-Father God") or even any other names of reverence, perhaps not in our native language. Why should the names we use separate us? I am Phyllis Eve, or Eve Adam, or Sunshine, or Harmonic Eve. Just as I am all of these, so God is all of the reverent names we use. Should my childhood friends who called me Phyllis hate the later friends who call me Eve? Now I am Harmonic Eve to myself, to my computer, and to my set-top box and TV set used by my MSN TV Internet account. That name represents my choices for my present and future as I search for Harmony in my life. Each name for God (my own choice) represents a different aspect of the whole, and each of us chooses the name according to our need. Let us respect each other's choice. Clara Barton was the founder and first president of the American Red Cross. Why did she and other women go to the field to help the wounded soldiers? As she says in her poem, it is "because in their hearts God had planted the seed of pity for woe, and help for its need." Her poem about life on the battlefield is not for young children or the squeamish.

I have been reading a large biography of 564 pages in small print, published in 2000 after much research. This has made me aware how motivated one must be to "read it all." I wanted to quote a four-line rhyme written by the subject of the biography, who died in 1945. I was going to give complete credit to both the researcher and publisher as well as the writer, who is not known for his poetry. I have been scared off by the printed words: "this book, or parts thereof, may not be reproduced in any form without permission." Not knowing how to contact the publisher or the author, I have removed the four-line rhyme written by the deceased subject of the biography, even though I saw it as the perfect ending to this website page.
