3 boys and 1 girl MORE ABOUT POMERANIAN BREED The character of the Pomeranian is responsible, more than anything else, for the manner in which he quickly endears himself to all who are closely associated with him. True, some owners purchase their first specimen because the dog is fashionable; some because of the dog's extreme beauty; and some for its cunning lovableness. Pomeranians are the happiest dogs, young and old. The fact that Pomeranians come in small packages does not diminish in the least their many talents and accomplishments. They are incomparable as companions for young and old. Their accute hearing and alertness make them good watchdogs-their approach is soundless and their angry voices, outraged at finding an intruder on the premises, bring help quickly. They keep just beyond the reach of an intruder, following him to the limits of their domain and then they trot back, bristling with outrage. As with many breeds, the Pomeranian is quick to sense the mood of his owner, and when sadness strikes, the sympathy and love a Pom can give will itself felt. He creeps close, touches his pink tongue to your hand, and stays near, asking only to be close when needed. He never grows noisy or boisterous at such times; his sense of fitness says this is not the time for merriment. Pomeranians do not quarrel among themselves and are characteristically unselfish. They cherish toys and a bed of their own. they are dainty eaters, and cleanliness is close to godliness with a Pomeranian. They take excellent care of their beautiful coats, and they are also clean in that they are usually very easy to housebreak. The adaptability of the Pomeranian makes it suited to almost any environment, whether a country home or a compact city apartment. The Pom's good manners, if the dog has indeed been well trained since puppyhood, make it welcome in public places. As well, these tiny dogs make excellent driving companions. Pomeranians love to travel in cars, and their keen delight in new sights and sounds adds to the enjoyment of the family's vacation trip. It is seldom necessary to find a boarding kennel for a Pomeranian during vacation; because he can fit into a small space, he can go along with you whenever and wherever you want to go. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pomeranian disposition info. obtained from T.F.H publications Pomeranians 1980 |
