Humanities' performance here on Earth was worthy of a special Oscar award of iniquity; Even though we had messengers - prophets - to deliver some heavy-duty info to enlighten us within. Let's try to keep in mind that these guys weren't the 'psychic network' ; In contrast to the misguided seers 'of the stars', ALL their prophecies came to pass; Sure..sure, of the future ones we can't yet say the same; However, mix Spirit inspiration + a bit of sincere faith from our hearts; And the Scriptural intel definately maintains their roles in the cast. Yet alas, they still didn't listen; Well, yeah, that was them and not us. But think..are we really all that different ? Assuming that we spiritually have minds that understand, Do we really care and take seriously all that prophecy stuff ? Putting ourselves in their point in time and space, Let's do a little time travel now, jumping ahead a few thousand years; We find a man living with us, Having an impact on others, the likes of which has never been seen; And let's face it: a man of charasmatic power contradicting religious beliefs of the hour, Made Jesus not exactly part of the Pharisee's team. Eventually proclaiming Himself with the appellation of 'Son of God', about which the current Jewish leadership is nowhere near thrilled; They irrevocably decided once and for all - with the aid of a covert operative named Judas - ' That Jesus... He needs to be killed.' In this day and age, even on our 'modern' cultural page, The lawyer wouldn't have dignified the next event with the word mistrial. Releasing a murderer instead of the Innocent One ?! Jesus' justice....well, there was none. Yeah but, listen to this: Jesus came here to die; Scripture fortells it, and it was the Father from whom He was sent. Executed by the Romans, crucified on a cross; Physical suffering we could not even begin to know. Yet heaped upon all these trials there can be no denial of the spiritual pain from imputation of the sins we sow. Though even the disciples now feared His ministry was 'all over', even though Jesus repeatedly told them of what was to come; A show of divine strength..the tombstone rolled back, As foretold by God's prophets, and re-iterated by our Lord.... Eternal salvation for the asking, the defeat of sin's power, now a fact that He won. Ladies and gentlemen of the audience: An award-winning performance beyond compare......... For our redemption: He had to die Mission accomplished: Tetelestai Behold: The glorious ressurection of the Son. |
