Let's face it, we were drenched in sin. But through his awesome love He granted us a 2nd chance. But how is He to do it after all we've done?! The only way...He required a sacrifice. He could have simply eradicated us, As in Genesis and the days of the flood; But through his undeserved love for us, He sent to Earth his only Son. The Messiah Jesus, born of Mary a virgin, Human though he was, but supernaturally conceived; The hypostatic union: fully man yet also God, A member of our race, yet totally without sin. Though ridiculed by many, He continued to preach, Fully aware of a plot against his life; Fearlessly led by the Spirit, He could survive any challenge, By Godly assurance, He knew it was not yet time. The day he was betrayed for a monetary sum, He had prayed to the Father, ' if possible let it not be...' Though He could have easily decided not to continue on this road, He resigned himself to a sacrificial death on a tree. Through His act of love, He's given a liberating gift, One of which we have but to ask. Having given his life once and for all for his Elect, Gifting us with life in the Kingdom and full access to the Throne, No need to ask the question, ....' What if He hadn't...?' |
